Holy Spirit Poems

Two Yellow Lily Blooms Closeup
These 2 Holy Spirit poems are rhyming prayers.

Many Holy Spirit prayers say "come" or "welcome" - very few say "Thank you!"

These poems are to honor the Holy Spirit. He is the best friend of our soul.

These poem prayers are suitable for Pentecost time. However, they're not just for Pentecost!

They can be prayed as often as you wish - even daily, every morning or evening - in church, in school, at home, or any where else, because we need the Holy Spirit all the time - to guide, direct, assist, inspire, encourage, and all the so many ways He helps us.

Prayers to Thank the Holy Spirit

Many prayers to the Holy Spirit say "Come" or "Welcome." How many say "Thank you" to the Holy Spirit?

Sadly, I think very few. And yet, it is simply a matter of good manners. We wouldn't neglect to say it when receive gifts from our friends, would we?

Thank-Your-Stars.com is here to remind us all that the Holy Spirit is one of the best and brightest stars we should thank. He has given us so many gifts. After all, he is God too. When we thank the Holy Spirit, we thank God Himself.

Remember, God is hurt by our ingratitude, and touched by our thanks.

Many times he waits to give more blessings, but he doesn't. That's because he is waiting for us to in some small way to first show him our appreciation for the blessings and gifts he has already given.

Pentecost Poems, and Poetry

I finished these 2 poems 2 days before Pentecost.

  1. "Around the Clock" - friendly greetings to the Holy Spirit throughout each day and throughout our life on earth.
  2. "The 7 Gifts" - a prayer of appreciation explaining each of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.

145. Around the Clock

     by Paul Berchtold, June, 2011

Good morning, Holy Spirit Friend!
You truly love me without end,
Bless every step I take today,
All that I think and do and say.

Good afternoon, my Spirit Guide!
Ever walking close by my side.
Thanks for your cool refreshment sweet,
When I'm working in sun and heat.

Good evening Holy Spirit Calm,
In peace I praise you, sing a psalm,
Thank you for your abundant love,
Fill my heart with blessings above.

Good Night my Holy Spirit God,
You've counted every step I trod,
Thanks for watching me through each night,
Bring me closer to heaven's delight.

Thank you Holy Spirit Power,
You make fruitful every hour,
You are the Gift from Heaven real, (now,)
To Father, Son, and You I kneel. (bow). Amen.

Another Holy Spirit Poem

146. The 7 Gifts

     by Paul Berchtold, June, 2011

Holy Spirit we now rejoice,
Your wisdom helps us make our choice,
To choose the path that Jesus shows,
To see things as God sees and knows.

Holy Spirit we now delight,
Your understanding brings the light,
Makes easier to comprehend,
God's truth and grace, life without end.

Holy Spirit you are God's hand,
By counsel life is daily planned,
Help us value the gift of time,
To journey on - to heaven climb.

Holy Spirit be praised more still,
Your fortitude makes strong our will,
Not in ourselves or human might,
But by your strength and holy light.

Holy Spirit you enlighten,
By knowledge you with joy brighten,
Not facts, figures, and all the rest.
Talking with God, we know him best.

Holy Spirit, Gift from above,
Piety fills our heart with love,
You unite each family member,
We're God's children, we remember.

Holy Spirit, Temple Within,
Fear of the Lord keeps us from sin,
May our motives be always pure,
God's life and love in us endure.

Holy Spirit, how can we bless,
Thank you enough, the truth confess?
We adore you, Father and Son,
And Holy Spirit. United. One. Amen.

Holy Spirit Poems to Give Inspiration and Encouragement

May these poems inspire and encourage each one of us!

When the Holy Spirit dwells in a soul, he is the source of it's life. He is the best strength. He is the source of inspiration. He is the source of all encouragement.

He is power. He is strength. He is Peace. He is the Consoler. He is the Comforter. He is God Himself.

Thank your stars!
