16 Birthday Friendship Poems ...
for Friends, to Friends, Best Friends

Salmon-Colored Dahlia
Poems to - or for - our friends help us remember them in a special way - on their birthday.

For many people, their birthday is one of the most important days that come around every year.

It's a great time to nurture and renew your friendship, telling how much you appreciate the support of your friend. Poems are a great way to do so.

It's such a blessing to have true, close, and dear friends, especially the heavenly ones. Friends that encourage us and inspire us, and even correct us, to help reach our true destiny.

Many people want a poem for a "best" friend.

You can adapt some of these birthday friendship poems by simply putting in the word best.

But use caution. I've been around the block a few times, to realize that here on earth, even good friends will disappoint, may die, may move out of the area, may no longer be in touch, and may change. Even a so-called "best friend" can give bad example, say or do the wrong thing, or give you poor advice.

In reality, there can be only one truly best friend - the One who best shows us the way to heaven - where we hope to spend our eternal existence.

152. Birthday Friendship Prayer

     by Paul Berchtold, June, 2011

To my dear friend, Happy Birthday!
My thoughts are now with you today,
Words are not enough clever,
For friends who are friends forever.

So let me say with lots of zest,
I wish for you the very best,
For this I long, for this I pray,
That God bless you in every way!

153. Royal Friendship

     by Paul Berchtold, June, 2011

Happy Birthday! Let's celebrate!
What's on my heart just cannot wait.
You've been my friend for a long time,
So now I put this words to rhyme.

I'm more blessed than royalty,
You have shown your loyalty,
May you always be richly blest,
With happiness, the very best.

And now wishing you.

245. A Small Returning

     by Paul Berchtold, March, 2012

Your influence, your example,
Has been to me just a sample,
Of God's blessings and his graces,
Shown to me in many places.
I appreciate you, dear friend!

However long the duration,
Courage is your inspiration,
You show the way how to aspire,
Keep on going ever higher.
God bless you always, my dear friend!

A chance to give some returning,
To keep our friendship ever strong.
Best wishes to you all day long,
A Happy Birthday, my dear friend!

247. What Brought Us Together

     by Paul Berchtold, March, 2012

What brought us together,
What special election,
Bonds stronger than leather,
To bring us connection?

We know well our secrets,
The happier stages,
The tears and regrets,
On life's well-worn pages.

We sail on together,
Forever united,
In all kinds of weather,
Until land's been sighted.

A Best Happy Birthday!
To you, dear and close friend,
From my heart I now say,
May our love never end!

248. From Afar

     by Paul Berchtold, March, 2012

Though I am far secluded,
I hope this message sends
My prayer to be included,
In your army of friends.

If I can't with you be,
For whatever reasons,
Still more happy years see,
And very best seasons.

May your days be joyful,
May all your friends give cheer,
With this wish so hopeful,
Happy Birthday, my dear!

252. Real Close Friends

     by Paul Berchtold, March, 2012

Today's your Birthday! What can I give?
It's you that means so much to me,
The light you shine, the way you live,
Your wisdom and integrity.

Friendship can't be weighed in ounces,
Yet is so weighty in its strength.
It cannot be measured in inches,
Yet it spans the greatest length.

Should I buy some gifts in a store,
And even if they should cost a lot,
Your friendship means far greater more,
It can't be priced or sold or bought.

Friendship can't be put in a box,
Yet it lives in a loving heart.
It can't be stored away with locks,
May it never be torn apart!

I cannot give as I desire,
I will give best your proper due,
In heartfelt love, with deepest fire:
Happy Birthday from me to you!

253. Lots of Smiles

     by Paul Berchtold, March, 2012

I wish you smiles,
For many miles,
For long, long whiles.

Smiles on your face,
That's one nice place,
To beam with grace.

Smiles deep inside,
That though they hide,
Will be your guide.

Smiles that God sends,
Smiles without ends,
From all your friends.

Smiles on this day,
For this we pray,
Happy Birthday!

Friends can Help us Celebrate!

It might be hard to have a birthday party all by yourself.

Children often invite their friends to the birthday party.

We adults, well, let's just say some of us become children again around our birthdays, and we look forward to treats, gifts, cards, and friends.

Or at least, we should. We should not be afraid to become a year older! In fact, everyone's getting older at the same rate all the time.

Out of everything at the party, the most valuable are family and friends.

Birthdays are a Good Time to Thank and Bless Our Friends

As a real friend, let's show:

  • Appreciation for the past. In the past, God, with the cooperation of our parents, helped bring us to this world on a special day - the day of birth.
  • Celebration in the present. The present birthday is good reason to rejoice, thanking God for the gift of life, that we have safely arrived at a new milestone in life.
  • Best wishes for the future. We pray God to bless and prosper our future in every way, especially our eternal future in heaven.
A friendship that lasts until heaven. Now that's one friendship that's going to last forever - lost in deep delight.

Birthday Friendship Poems - In Appreciation

True friends help us on our way in life.

They shine like stars at night. They show the way, giving wise direction and guidance, and especially, leading by good example.

We must not take them for granted. We need to thank them once in while.

Birthdays are a great opportunity to show them our appreciation, so ...

Thank your stars!
